Frequently asked questions
Practical answers about renting with us in Paros.
FAQ list
- What do I need to rent a car?
- You need a valid driving licence held for at least one year, a valid ID card or passport, and your reservation reference. The minimum age is 23 years and the maximum is 65 years. Non-EU citizens, or drivers whose licence is not in English or Greek characters, must also present an International Driving Licence.
- What is your cancellation policy?
- For cancellations made more than one month (30 days) before your pickup date, we offer a full refund of any deposit paid. For cancellations within one month of the pickup date, the deposit is non-refundable. To cancel or amend your booking, please contact us by email or phone as early as possible.
- What happens if I don't collect the vehicle on time?
- If you do not collect the vehicle and have not contacted us, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation after 1 hour. Any deposit paid in such cases is non-refundable. If your ferry or flight is delayed, please call us as soon as possible so we can hold your vehicle.
- What are the charges for a late return?
- A grace period of 15 minutes is allowed free of charge. Beyond 15 minutes, a charge of one third (1/3) of the applicable daily rate per hour will apply until the vehicle is returned.
- What insurance is included, and what does CDW cover?
- All rentals include Third Party Liability Insurance covering third parties up to €1,000,000. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is available as an optional extra and reduces your liability for accidental damage, with an excess of €500-€2,000 depending on the vehicle. CDW does not cover the underside, roof, windscreen, glass, mirrors, wheels, tyres, or accessories, and is void in cases of impaired driving, driving on unpaved roads, or use outside Paros island.
- What happens in case of a breakdown or accident?
- Call us immediately on +30 697 740 9404. Photograph all damage, collect witness contact details, do not admit fault, complete an accident report, and contact the police if required. We will guide you through the next steps.
- Can I take the rental car on a ferry or off Paros island?
- No. Our vehicles are insured for use on Paros island only. Taking a vehicle on a ferry or using it outside Paros is not permitted without our prior written permission, and any such use voids the insurance.
- What is the fuel policy?
- Vehicles are provided with a full tank and must be returned with the same fuel level. If returned with less fuel, you will be charged for the missing fuel plus a €10 administration fee. Only unleaded petrol may be used; using the wrong fuel is not covered by insurance.
- Where can I pick up the car?
- We offer free delivery and collection daily between 08:00 and 22:00 at our Aegean Motion Paros office in Paroikia, Paros Airport, Paros Port and hotel locations. Out-of-hours service (before 08:00 or after 22:00) carries an additional charge of €10. Surcharges may apply for certain delivery zones.
- What is included in the price?
- The price includes the vehicle, Third Party Liability Insurance (or the insurance package you selected), VAT (24%) and local taxes, and our 24/7 support line. Fuel, optional extras (child seat, GPS, etc.), traffic fines and CDW are not included unless selected during booking.
- Are baby/child seats available?
- Yes, child seats are available upon request, free of charge, subject to availability. Please request one at the time of booking to ensure availability.
- What payment methods do you accept?
- Payment can be made at pickup by cash, Visa or Mastercard. If you wish to pay by credit or debit card, please let us know in advance when booking.
- Who is responsible for traffic fines?
- The renter is responsible for all traffic fines, toll charges and parking penalties incurred during the rental period. If we are required to intervene with the authorities on your behalf, an administration fee of €25 will apply.
- Can I add an additional driver?
- Yes. Additional drivers must meet the same age and licence requirements as the primary renter (minimum 23 years, valid licence held for at least one year) and must be present at pickup to be added to the rental agreement.
